Patients continue to suffer due to Khulna docs’ strike

Medical services in all private clinics, hospitals and diagnostic centres in Khulna city remained suspended for the 3rd consecutive day on Monday due to an indefinite strike, causing sufferings to the patients. Besides, the doctors of government hospitals also joined the strike on Monday expressing solidarity with the striking fellows. The local chapter of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) and Bangladesh Private Clinic, Diagnostic Hospital Owner’s Association went on the strike on Saturday protesting attack on Gazi Medical Collage Hospital by Khulna University (KU) students over death of a fellow. Meanwhile, doctors submitted a memorandum to the Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police to press home their demand, according to a news agency.
