Pavel gets PIB-Sohel Samad Award

Photojournalist Pavel Rahman has been selected as the recipient of the PIB-Sohel Samad Memorial Award -2013. The decision was taken in recognition of his contribution to the country's photojournalism, according to a Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) press release. The award comprises of a crest, a certificate and cash Tk 50,000. Pavel Rahman, son of Mujibur Rahman and Matija Rahman, was born in Rangpur district in 1956. He started his career as a photojournalist with the weekly 'Joyoddhani' and later worked for the Dainik Bangla, weekly Ekata, Dainik Janapad, Sangbad and The New Nation and the Associated Press (AP). Currently, he works as the photo adviser of Prothom Alo.
