Pay scale from July 1: Muhith

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Saturday said new pay scale for all republic servants, including government officials and employees under the National Pay Scale will be effective from July 1, 2015. "The pay scale will be implemented as per a decision of the cabinet in light of recommendations made in the reports of the National Pay and Service Commission 2013 and the Secretary Committee," the finance minister said in reply to a question from treasury bench member Begum Mahzabin Khaled (women seat-18). Responding to another question from Awami League lawmaker Mahfuzur Rahman (Chittagong-3), Muhith said the government brought back laundered money of Singapore dollar 20,41,534.88 from Singapore through the SWIFT on November 20, 2012. "The name of money launderer is Arafat Rahman Koko," he said. Muhith said the government, after assuming office, remains active in bringing back the laundered money. "All departments of the government have been working in a coordinated manner to bring back home the siphoned out money," he added., according to a news agency.
