Payment of dues under new scale in seven days

Tuesday, 1 December 2009

The government will pay five months' dues, July to November, under the recently approved pay scale within seven days, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said Monday, reports bdnews24.com.
Until then, however, salaries for November will be disbursed according to the old scale, Muhith told reporters at the secretariat.
"The government will pay the dues in line with the new pay scale within the next seven days. But November salaries will be paid under the previous scale," he said.
The minister said the resolution, sent to the law ministry to review the legal aspects, would be published soon as a gazette. The finance ministry has completed all other preparations, he added.
Muhith declared the new scale on November 11, to have retroactive effect from July this year.
The new scale begins at Tk 4,100 and ranges up to a maximum Tk 40,000.
The Seventh Pay Commission was formed in September 2008.
