PBCP leader gunned down

PABNA, Nov 30: An outlawed activist was gunned down in a gunfight between two groups of extremists at Alokdiar village of Santhia Upazila in Pabna Monday.
The deceased was identified as Jiarul Islam (30), of village Alokdiar in Santhia Upazila in the district. The victim was a hardened operative of outlawed Purba Banglar Communist party (ML, PBCP Red Flag) faction police said.
Officer in charge (OC) of Santhia police station Reajul Islam said Jiarul Islam was gunned down at Alokdiar water body of the Upazila Monday noon. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to Hospital.
