PCJSS leader shot dead at Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Oct 8 (bdnews24.com): Avilash Chakma (37), a leader of Parbattya Chattagram Jana Shanghati Samiti (PCJSS), was shot dead at Kalyanpur area of the town Friday.
Miscreants forcefully entered his house at Kalyanpur and shot him dead, the police said.
Avilash's house is located only about 600 to 700 feet away from that of Jyotirindra Bodhiprio Larma (Santu Larma), the PCJSS president and chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council.
Deceased Avilash was general secretary of PCJSS Naniarchar Upazila wing, Sajib Chakma, central assistant information and publicity secretary of the organisation said.
"A group of miscreants entered the house breaking its doors open at around 4: 00 am," Rangamati police sub-inspector (SI) Mohammad Joynal said.
He also said that the killers fired two shots on the head of Avilash, leaving him dead on the spot.
The unidentified assailants immediately ran away from the scene, police said.
The body was sent to Rangamati General Hospital for autopsy.
