Peddler held with 300 bottles Phensidyl

Police arrested an alleged drug trader and seized 300 bottles of Phensidyl from him at South Surma in Sylhet district on Monday. The arrested is Sayeed Ahmed, 36, son of Ibrahim Ahmed of Goatali village of Chougachha upazila of Jessore district. Ranjan Samantha, officer-in-charge of South Surma Police Station, said locals stopped a microbus driven by Sayeed and caught him along with a sack containing Phensidyl syrup at Muchargaon village about 12.19am on Monday. Locals gave a mass beating to Sayeed on the spot where he admitted that another sack of Phensidyl was kept near the house of one Suroj Ali at Kaistarail at the South Surma Upazila. Police recovered that sack of the drug also. Locals handed him over to police along with the contraband drugs, according to UNB.
