CHITTAGONG, Aug 18 (BSS): Primary education sector of the district has witnessed a qualitative change in terms of standard of education and development of infrastructure facilities in the past 3 years.
Officials of District Primary Education Depar-tment (DPED) and stakeholders at field levels told BSS that the positive changes have been achieved in the sector, particularly in rural areas, due to efforts being made under a six-year-term multi- donor- assisted giant project titled "Primary Education
Development Project (PEDP), Phase-II" side by side with the government support.
The US Dollar 1,815 million project (PEDF-phase-II) began in 2004 under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (MOPME) to improve the quality of primary education through providing adequate infrastructure facilities and trained teaching staff.
