People against current regime: BNP

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the recent upazila election results have proved that people are against the current regime.
 “The government has resorted to various evil designs to manipulate the upazila election results, but they couldn’t do that as people were not with them,” he said.
The BNP spokesman came up with the remarks while addressing a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club Sunday, according to a news agency.
Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal arranged the programme demanding the release of its leaders, including general secretary and organising secretary, and an immediate fresh national election under a non-party regime.
Terming the current regime illegal and unconstitutional one, Fakhrul said it is now in office only with the power of arms not with people’s mandate.
