People don't have trust in mixed leadership: Quader

NOAKHALI, Sept 25 (BSS): Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Tuesday that the people have no trust in mixed leadership of Jatiya Oikya Prokriya and Jukta Front.
"It's very urgent of a leader to lead any movement. Without leader, leadership cannot be built in true sense. That's why people do not have trust in mixed leadership," he told a public rally on Madhya Char Kakra High School ground at Natun Bazar of Companyganj in the district.
Char Kakra Union unit of Awami League (AL) arranged the rally with Char Kakra Union Parishad Chairman Haji Safiullah in the chair.
Basurhat municipality mayor Abdul Qader Mirza and district AL vice-president Sahab Uddin, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Quader said BNP leaders did massive irregularities in power sector during its tenure. On the other hand, the AL-led incumbent government had reached electricity home to home in remote areas, he added.
He said if BNP comes to state power again, they will embezzle public money like previous time. The country and its people would not be safe if BNP comes to power, he added.
Earlier, the minister laid foundation stones of different development works at Kabirhat municipality in the district.
Later, he joined an election preparatory meeting in the municipality with Kabirhat upazila Awami League president Nurul Amin Rumi in the chair.
District AL general secretary and lawmaker of Noakhali-4 constituency Ekramul Karim Chowdhury, Kabirhat upazila parishad chairman Kamrun Nahar Sheuly and Kabirhat municipality mayor Jahirul Haque Raihan addressed the meeting, among others.
