People enthusiastic, officials busy for upcoming polls in N-dists

RANGPUR, Nov 7 (BSS): People from all walks of life have been showing their keen interests for electing their representatives in the upcoming general polls in all 34 parliamentary seats in eight districts of greater Rangpur and Dinajpur.
The concerned officials in the District Election Offices and administrations have engaged themselves for completing the necessary arrangements of holding the polls in a free, fair and credible manner, officials said Friday.
Meanwhile, the election campaign starts getting momentum in both urban and rural areas including the tea-stalls and public places of Rangpur, Kurigram, Gaibandha, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon and Dinajpur districts.
The concerned Returning Officers, District Election Officers and the Assistant Returning Officers have already started working as per the directives of the Election Commission (EC) after the announcement of schedules for both parliament and upazila polls.
Selection of polling centres, booths and sending of transparent ballot boxes have already been completed in these constituencies and selection of field level election officials and monitoring the state of political parties relating to their registration are also nearing completion.
Talking to the news agency, people from all walks of life including rickshaw-pullers and day-labourers expressed their happiness that they will have an opportunity to elect their representatives, who would be corruption-free, patriots and serve the people with dedication and sincerity.
