Friday, 14 February 2014

Terming the government ‘illegal’ again, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday said the country’s people have got fed-up with its ‘terrorist acts’. “The illegal government which came to power through muscle power in a voter-less election is now filing false cases against opposition leaders and activists and arresting them,” he said in a statement. The statement came in protest against the arrest of Chougachha upazila BNP general secretary Yunus Ali and Charghat upazila Jasas president Mozaffar Hossain. Asking the government to refrain from filing ‘false’ cases against opposition men and arresting them, Fakhrul warned: “Otherwise, you won’t be able to escape public wraths.” He also demanded the immediate release of Yunus and Mozaffar, according to a news agency.
