People not able to celebrate Eid with full pleasure: Khaleda

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has said that the people of the country are not able to celebrate Eid with full pleasure due to forced disappearances, killing and oppression by the government. The former prime minister said this while talking to journalists at her Eid reception. She hosted a reception to people from all walks of life as well as foreign diplomats on the occasion of Holy Eid-ul-Fitre at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city on Tuesday afternoon. The reception was held from 12:15pm-1:45pm. Khaleda welcomed the guests by saying Eid Mubarak. She exchanged Eid greetings and pleasantries with Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Charge d’Affaires of different countries, representatives of different donor agencies. Khaleda also exchanged greetings with leaders and activists of the BNP and its affiliates, senior journalists, cultural personalities, representatives of the business community and professionals. Talking to the journalists, Khaleda Zia noted that the people of the country are not able to celebrate Eid with full pleasure due to forced disappearances, killings and oppression by the government and also spiraling of prices of essentials, according to a news agency.
