People of 50 Ctg villages to observe Ramadan from Thursday

Muslims in some villages of a south-eastern district of Bangladesh will observe Ramadan from Thursday, although the new crescent moon of the Holy month of fasting and restraint is not yet spotted from any places of Bangladesh till Wednesday late afternoon. A news agency reported on Wednesday that people of 50 villages of southern area of Chittagong district will observe Holy Ramadan from Thursday, keeping similarity with Saudi Arabia which announced that Ramadan will commence there on Thursday. The devotees of the 50 villages of Chittagong will be fasting durig daytime on Thursday after having Sehri before Fazr prayers. They will say Tarabi prayers tonight (Wednesday), representatives of people and local administration officials of two upazilas – Satkania and Chandanaish upazilas where the 50 villages are situated – said on Wednesday, according to a news agency.
