Foreign Minister Dipu Moni who attended a Special NAM Ministerial Meeting on Interfaith Dialogue and Cooperation for Peace and Development in Manila Wednesday said people of all faiths have been living in harmony in secular Bangladesh, reports UNB.
"The diversities in our faiths should not divide us; rather play in
harmony as a binding force that would bring humanity together," she made the remarks at the ministerial meeting held at the Philippine International Convention Centre.
Dipu Moni said Bangladesh has been tabling a resolution in the UN General Assembly each year on a Culture of Peace with a desire to create a world order where amity would replace atrocity and harmony would overcome hatred and intolerance.
She said values of democracy, tolerance, solidarity and respect for diversity, dialogue and understanding are no wonder in Bangladesh.
Mutual respect and understanding is essential for achieving lasting peace and sustainable development, she added.
