People pay respect to Princess Diana

Thousands of people in the United Kingdom on Sunday paid tributes to Princess Diana who died in a car crash 17 years ago. People in different cities in other countries in Europe, Canada and the United States also recalled the late Princess with respect. Diana, the spouse of Prince Charles who had fans worldwide, was killed in a car crash in Paris. The Princess initially survived the August 31, 1997, limousine crash, but later succumbed to her injuries in a hospital. Egyptian film producer Dodi Al-Fayed and the driver were also killed in the accident. A bodyguard was seriously injured. French authorities investigating the crash found the driver had a high level of alcohol in his system when the crash happened. The paparazzi trailing Princess Diana was also scrutinized. Thousands turned up for her funeral, held at Westminister Abbey in London, according to a news agency.
