People reject Jamaat\\\'s hartal: Maya

Monday, 22 September 2014

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said Sunday countrywide hartal called by the Jamaat-e-Islami to protect its leader war criminal Delwar Hossain Sayeedi has been rejected by the people of the country, reports BSS.
"Jamaat did not call the hartal for the welfare of the country and its citizens, rather they are more interested to protect its leader war criminal Sayeedi convicted by the War Crimes Tribunal for crimes against humanity during the Liberation War," he added.
The minister was addressing the anti-hartal rally as the chief guest organised by the Sammilitio Awami Samarthok Jote in front of AL party office in the city's Bangabandhu Avenue.
About BNP's Monday's hartal, Maya said the 20-party alliance actually stood for the Jamaat leader war criminal Sayeedi, although they are telling that they have called hartal protesting the 16th amendment to the Constitution.
He said the killers of 1971, '75 and August 21, 2004 have got united under the leadership of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The minister alleged that the BNP-Jamaat alliance actually wants to take over power through the back door by terrorism, anarchy and militant activities.
