People to resist any obstruction to long march: BNP
Saturday, 19 April 2014
BNP standing committee member MK Anwar on Saturday warned the government that people will resist if it tries to obstruct their scheduled long march towards the Teesta Barrage in Nilphamari on April 22. “The long-march programme is not only BNP’s programme, but also people’s one. So, people will resist if any obstruction is created to it,” he said. The senior BNP leader issued the warning while distributing leaflets among people in Nayapaltan to drum up public support in favour of their long-march programme. Meanwhile, a BNP press release on Saturday said the party, led by its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, will start its long march from in front its Nayapaltan central office at 8am on Tuesday. The party, however, rescheduled its Tuesday afternoon’s rally in Rangpur for Wednesday morning due to unavoidable reasons, according to a news agency.
