People urged to reject war criminals, corrupts in polls

Noted educationist Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique Saturday called on the people to reject the war criminals, corrupt people and fanatics in the upcoming parliamentary elections to be held the 29 December. He expressed the hope that the people would take their decision to establish the ideals of Liberation War and economic emancipation by giving their verdict in favour of the grand alliance, said a press release.
He made the call at a meeting in observance of Victory Day organised by Bangladesh Muktijoddha Samannay Parishad at its central office in the city. Chairman of the Parishad writer Abir Ahad presided over the meeting while former Establishment Secretary Md Mahe Alam, Barrister Mohsen Rashid, freedom fighter F Zakir Khan, writer-journalist Yusuf Sharif, Prof Dr ASM Badruddoza, Syed Aftabul Alam Lai, writer Joyosree Zaman, Naser Khan Kislu and Soleman Kader Mintu spoke at the meeting.
Freedom fighter and writer Abir Ahad in his address urged the people to cast their vote for Awami League-led grand alliance to materialise the ideals and dreams of Bangabandhu, freedom fighters and the martyrs of the War of Liberation. He said only Awami League government could ensure the trial of war criminals. New and young voters may take up the role to implement these programmes by their verdict to Awami League.
