People urged to remain alert against conspiracy

Speakers at a discussion in the city Thursday called upon the people to remain alert against the killers and conspirators who are active again to machinate another August tragedy in the country, reports BSS. "The killers and conspirators of 1971 and 1975 have been united again for hatching out deep-rooted plot to destabilize the country through resorting to anarchism and annihilation in their bid to protect the surviving killers of Bangabandhu and to halt the trials of war criminals", they said. Addressing a big rally in front of Awami League (AL) central office on Bangabandhu Avenue the speakers pointed out that open and naked threats are being aired from responsible quarters to commit another August tragedy in the country that is an ominous sign for the nation. The rally was organized by Bangabandhu Sanskritik Parishad in observance of the happy birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabanhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day. Former Minister and central AL leader Mohammad Nasim attended the function as the chief guest while Dhaka City AL General Secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram and Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Managing Editor Azizul Islam Bhuyian were the main speakers and special guests respectively. Presided over by Parishad President and Dhaka City Awami League Publication and Publicity Secretary Abdul Haq Sabuj, the function was also addressed, among others, by Parishad general secretary Abdul Hai Manik, Bangabandhu Moncho Chairman Niza Mohammad Khan and leaders of various front organisations. Mohammad Nasim while expressing satisfaction and delight over hanging the self-confessed killers of Bangabandhu, told the audience that the present government would bring back soon the rest of the surviving killers of the Father of the Nation and put them on the gallows. Bitterly criticizing the subversive comments made by the main opposition and its high ups, Mohammad Nasims said no amount of conspiracy could halt the process of the trial of the war criminals Mofazzel Hossain Chowdhury Maya said the dream of Bangabandhu of a Sonar Bangla would be materialized in its true perspective by the present government under the dynamic leadership of Sheikh Hasina. The discussion over, a big joyous procession was brought out that paraded the main city thoroughfares. Awami League central and Mohanagar leaders led the procession.
