People vandalise PDB office in Jhenidah

Power-hungry people vandalised the office of the Power Development Board (PDB) executive engineer in Sadar upazila of Jhenidah on Wednesday, protesting frequent load-shedding and low voltage. Anwar Hossain, sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station, said the angry residents of Dhanharia and Udoypur villages laid siege to the office of Mohammad Saifuzamman, executive engineer of PDB, around 11am demanding uninterrupted power supply. At one stage, they stormed into the office and vandalised computers, chairs, tables and furniture. Being informed, police rushed in and brought the situation under control, according to a news agency.
