PANCHAGARH, Mar 20 (BSS): Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the people's support to Awami League is increasing as BNP is trying to topple the government.
"BNP, in the name of movement, has been saying since the formation of our government in 2009 that our days are numbered. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that the farewell bell of the government has been ringing. But the people favour the government more whenever they (BNP) launch campaign against us," he said.
The minister said this while talking to reporters at the Circuit House here before attending the triennial conference of Awami League Panchagarh district unit.
Hasan said the countrymen would not response to their (BNP) call. Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is running the state for three consecutive terms through the people's verdict, he added.
He said the people of the country are with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Awami League. And the party (Awami League) would form the government after winning the next elections under the dynamic leadership of the Premier, said Hasan, also AL joint general secretary.
He said Bangladesh has moved up seven notches on the Index of the World Happiness Report of the United Nations despite the continuous propaganda of BNP. India and Pakistan are behind of Bangladesh, he added.
