Perpetrators of Aug 21 grenade attacks hatching conspiracy: Sahara

Awami League presidium member and former home minister Advocate Sahara Khatun has alleged that the perpetrators of August 21 grenade attacks have again been hatching conspiracy to save the war criminals. ‘The BNP-Jamaat combine mounted the grenade attacks on August 21 in 2004 at the anti-terrorism rally of Awami League to kill our party president Sheikh Hasina and other stalwarts. The conspirators behind the carnage have again been hatching conspiracy to save the war criminals from gallows,’ Sahara said while addressing as the chief guest a discussion, held at Rajlakkhi Market at Uttara Sector-3 in the city. Dhaka City North unit Awami Juba League organised the meeting followed by a milad mahfil (special prayers) in memory of Abul Kalam Azad, one of the martyrs of the August 21 carnage, with its organising secretary Md Mamun Sarker in the chair. Later, a minajat was held at the venue praying to the almighty Allah for Abul Kalam Azad and 60 other people killed in the ghastly grenade attacks on the AL rally in front of the party’s central office in Bangabandhu Avenue, according to a news agency.
