Perpetrators of Oct 28 incidents will face legal action: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun warned on Wednesday that legal action will be taken against the persons involved in the incidents that happened on October 28 and afterwards.
He voiced the warning while talking to the media after visiting police personnel injured in violent clashes on October 28 or Saturday last at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
"Journalists carry out their assignments at the field level by taking risks like police. Like police, they (journalists) also face attack while gathering information for reporting," he said.
"The miscreants didn't want to see taking any such information and pictures by journalists that would give a clear impression of them (miscreants). So sensing this miscreants attacked journalists and police on October 28," he added.
"We (police) will take legal action against the persons involved in the violent incidents on October 28 and other incidents that happened later," he warned.
