PGCB, Siemens sign deal on power sub-station

Siemens Bangladesh Ltd and Consortium of Siemens Ltd, India have signed a contract with the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) for establishment of 132/33 KV substation at Niamatpur in the country at a cost of over $4.25 million. The PGCB, a subsidiary of Bangladesh Power Development Board, will finance the entire project cost. The project works under the deal includes Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of a new substation at Niamatpur, said a press release. It also includes the extension of one 132KV bay at existing Noagaon substation with necessary switchgear and related control and protection equipment. The project is to be completed within 18 months. Mohammed Salim, company secretary of PGCB, Jose Joseph, general manager of Power Transmission and Distribution (PTD), and Nishi Saksena, commercial manager of Siemens Ltd, India, signed the contract on behalf of their respective companies in the city recently. — FE Report
