PABNA, July 21 (UNB): An employee of Square Pharmaceuticals Limited was stabbed to death by some miscreants at Shalaipur in sadar upazila early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain, 35, a senior executive chemist of the pharmaceutical company and son of late Abul Hossain of Ekdanta village in Atgharia upazila.
Quoting locals police said a group of miscreants intercepted two motorcycles-one carrying Anwar and another carrying Rana, a businessman and his younger brother Abdul Malek, while returning home from their workplace around 10:30 pm.
They took the siblings to a jackfruit orchard and tied them up with a tree.
They took Anwar to a litchi orchard and stabbed him indiscriminately around 12:30 am, leaving him critically injured.
The miscreants then strangled Anwar to confirm his death and fled away with Anwar's motorbike.
Hearing Malek's scream, local people rescued him and Rana from the area early Monday and found Anwar's body lying in the litchi orchard.
Being informed, police recovered the body of Anwar around 3:30 am and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue.
Kazi Haniful Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said miscreants might have killed Anwar over previous enmity.
