Philippines opens visa centre in Ctg today

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 6: The Philippines opens its visa centre in the port city today (Thursday) that will boost up bilateral trade with the ASEAN country.
Honourary Consul of the Philippines in Chattogram Mohammed A Awwal said with the opening of the new visa centre, they were going to meet a long-cherished demand of the people of the commercial capital and the tourists and businesses here will see it as an advantage to have frequent trips in the country.
Mr Awwal was speaking at a press meet at the conference hall of Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the city on Wednesday.
He said visa applications will be received at the Philippines Honourary Consulate at Palm View in Agrabad commercial area after inauguration of the visa centre in the evening.
Attache and visa officer from the embassy of the Philippines Berlin A Tolosa, Chief Executive of the Consulate Sheikh Habibur Rahman and General Secretary of the BEPZIA, Chattogram (Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Investors' Association) Azizul Bari Chowdhury Jinnah also spoke at the press meet.
"We feel proud to have finally opened the visa centre in the port city to serve visitors, tourists and businesses with visas just within 10 working days after submission of applications with relevant papers to the consulate," Mr Awwal said.
