Philips GoGear SA52 MP3 Player
Sunday, 9 November 2008
Philips hopes to raise the bar in sound quality with the introduction of the GoGear portable media players, the SA52.
The players use the company's proprietary FullSound technology to make MP3 songs sound just like high quality CD music by restoring detail to the compressed files, according to the company.
FullSound uses a digital audio algorithm that refines audio output by performing 10 million operations per second to analyse and recompute the music signal before it is sent to the speaker.
The SA52 has a sharp 2.8in colour screen for viewing videos, photos and album artwork.
It is available in two sizes - 4G and 2GB storage capacities, and there is also a 4GB version that comes with built-in Bluetooth.
The model also comes bundled with a Angletube earphone, which features an ergonomically-designed Angled Acoustic Pipe that channels sound waves directly to the eardrum to minimises sound distortion.
It also has an integrated FM tuner so you can listen to your favourite radio stations while on the go.
On a single charge, the players have a rated continuous music play back of up to 30 hours or up to six hours when viewing videos.
Additionally, users who opt for the Bluetooth model will be able to hook it up with an external Bluetooth stereo or headphone.
According to Philips, the SA52 support a wide range of audio and video formats including MP3, WMA, AAC, AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, , MOV, WMV and WMV.
