Photo journalist Peu passes away

Eminent photo journalist Azizur Rahim Peu died of cardiac arrest on Monday night. He was 54. He left behind wife, a daughter and a son. Peu was the Photo Editor of the Daily Observer. Peu’s family members and colleagues said he felt chest pain at 3am at his residence at West Dhanmondi in the city. He was immediately rushed to Square Hospital at West Panthapath where the doctor declared him dead. Besides Observer, Peu worked with different other national daily newspapers, including the Daily Ittefaq and Shokaler Khobor in his long photojournalistic career. He was associated with Pathshala, a photography training institute and was a member of Bangladesh Photographic Society (BPS). Peu was also the editor and publisher of ‘Baher Shongbad’, a daily which was published from Rangpur. His namaz-e-janaza was held at National Press Club in the afternoon, according to a news agency.
