PHP director elected Peoples Insurance chair

CHITTAGONG, July 14: Director of the PHP Group Mohamed Ali Hossain has been elected chairman of Peoples Insurance Company Ltd after the board election.
The election of the Board of the company was held on July 12 last at the company's head office in Dhaka. Ali is the fourth son of Sufi Mizanur Rahman, chairman of the industrial conglomerate PHP Group.
Ali Hossain joined the family business after having obtained his higher degree in Business Management from University of Canberra, Australia in the year 2002. Currently he is working as finance director of PHP and director of Steel, Power, Glass, Textile, Ship-breaking Recycling, Betumin, Rubber, Fisheries, Petro-Chemical, Aviation, Media, Agro and other concerns. He is also the member of the Trustee Board of University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS).
He holds the responsibility of the managing committee of the daily Amader Samoy and daily Suprobhat Bangladesh. He has been working as director of the Peoples Insurance Co Ltd for the last seven years.
Ali Hossain is a member of the Rotary International's Fellow of the Paul Harris Foundation.
