PHQ releases images of possible JMB disguises

The police headquarters on Tuesday released nine different images of the two militants convicts snatched from a prison van at Signboard of Trishal in Mymensingh on Sunday. In a filmy-style attack on the prison van, a group of militants snatched three convicted JMB members — Rakib, Salahuddin and Boma Mizan — killing a police constable while they were being taken from Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur to Mymensingh court around 10am on Sunday. Members of the elite force Rab recaptured Rakib around five hours later from Taktarchala in Sakhipur of Tangail district who was killed in a reported gunfight with police at Beltail of Mirzapur upazila in Tangail early Monday. But the two other militants– Salahuddin and Boma Mizan– are still at large. The Police headquarters released the four manipulated photographs of Mijan while five of Salauddin from various angles so that people can easily identify the fugitives whenever they appear in public. Earlier on Monday, the police headquarters raised the bounty for the two absconders to Tk 5 lakh from Tk 2 lakh. Meanwhile, police filed four cases — two with Trishal and two others with Sakhipur police stations — in connection with snatching of the three JMB militants and the killing of the policeman in the prison van, according to a news agency.
