Physician crushed under truck

A physician has been killed in a road accident in Savar upazila of Dhaka district. The decease has been identified as Harunur Rashid, 60, a doctor. Police quoting witnesses said Dr Harun was standing beside the road in Namabazar in the outskirts of Dhaka city on Tuesday afternoon. A soybean oil-laden truck ran over him, leaving him injured critically. Locals rescued and whisked him off to Enam Medical College and Hospital in Savar town where the doctor declared him dead at about 2.29pm. After the accident, locals seized the truck, however, its driver and helper managed to flee the scene. A case has been filed, according to a news agency.
