Picnic bus bombed: 1 injured

Miscreants hurled bombs at a picnic bus leaving an inmate slightly injured and the bus damaged in Meherpur Sadar upazila on Thursday night. Driver and passengers of the bus and local people said the incident that took place in Ahmed field area around 10:30pm. Iddris Ali, driver of the bus, said the bus was carrying picnickers of Ashrafpur Youth Federation to Shapnapuri in Dinajpur district. On the way, a gang of 20/25 unidentified miscreants, equipped with crude bombs and other lethal weapons, attempted to stop the bus at the spot. Sensing danger, driver Idris tried to flee the scene. The miscreants hurled at least four crude bombs targeting the bus. One of the bombs smashed the front glass (wind shield) of the bus and another damaged its rooftop injuring a passenger slightly, according to a news agency.
