PILIL holds national seminar, AGM

Prime Islami Life Insurance Ltd (PILIL) held the national seminar-2007 and the 7th annual general meeting (AGM) of the company at two different venues in the city recently.
The seminar was presided over by Shariah Council Executive Committee Chairman Sayeed Kamaluddin Zafri, while ex-chief election commissioner and Shariah Council member MA Rouf was present at the programme as the chief guest.
Dhaka University Banking Department Chairman M Muzahidul Islam presented the keynote paper on 'the problems and prospects of Islamic Jiban Bima in Bangladesh' in the seminar.
PILIL Managing Director (MD) Kazi Md Mortuza Ali briefed the audience about the system of Islami insurance.
The discussants emphasised on the need for formulating the Islami Insurance Act by the concerned ministry immediately, which has become an obvious demand of the industry.
Meanwhile, the 7th AGM of the company was presided over by its Chairman Manzoor ul Karim.
The annual general report of the company was read out by its Secretary Habibur Rahman.
A good number of shareholders participated in the AGM. They demanded dividend for the shareholders shortly.
Adviser of the Company MA Khaleq and directors were present, among others, on the occasion.
The PILIL MD and the Shariah Council executive committee chairman replied to different queries of the shareholders.
