Pinak owner\\\'s son lands in jail

A Munshiganj court has sent the son of the owner of the sunken launch Pinak-6, Omar Faruk Limon to jail, pending hearing of a remand plea by police. Police presented Faruk Limon before the court on Saturday and sought seven days remand to question him in the case filed over the August 4 tragedy in which at least 49 people died and about 170 went missing. The judge set Monday to hear police’s plea and sent Limon to jail, Lauhajang Police Station OC Md Tofazzal Hossain told reporters. RAB arrested Limon, 27, from Dhaka’s Khilkhet on Friday morning. He was the in-charge of ticket sale and overall supervision of Pinak-6, which sank in Padma River near Mawa Turning Point in Munshiganj with over 300 passengers on board, according to bdnews24.com.
