Friday, 22 December 2023

Fargana Hoque Pinky's record-breaking ton went in vain as Bangladesh lost the second ODI to South Africa by eight wickets at Potchefstroom in South Africa on Wednesday, reports BSS.
Bangladesh are looking to seal the first ever series against South Africa following their crushing 119-run in the first match.
But the defeat meant, South Africa leveled the series, making the third ODI on December 23 (Saturday) a decider one.
Pinky hit 102, her second ODI ton and thereby became the only Bangladeshi female batter to score more than one century as the Tigresses put up a respectable 222-4.
After Pinky laid the foundation with an innings laced with 11 fours, Fahima Khatun gave the finishing touch with 46 not out. Opener Shamima Sultana made 28.
South Africa, however, raced to the victory in just 45.1 overs, making 223-2. Anneke Bosch led the charge with 65 not out. Opener and captain Laura Wolvaardt hit 54 while Tazmin Brits contributed 50. Sune Luus was not out on 47.
