Pintu's bail remains halted

Tuesday, 5 October 2010

The Appellate Division has upheld the chamber justice's order that had stayed former MP Nasiruddin Pintu's bail in the Peelkhana killing case, reports bdnews24.com.
A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque, gave the order Monday.
Earlier on May 4, Appellate Division chamber judge, Justice Mohammed Muzammel Hossain stayed a High Court (HC) order granting Pintu bail.
The HC had granted Pintu three months' interim bail in the case on February 17.
Pintu faces charges of inciting border guards to mutiny, leading a procession in support of the mutiny during the February 2009 massacre and helping mutineers to flee the scene.
