Pirates loot valuables from trawler

FARIDPUR, July 24 (UNB): Pirates looted valuables worth over Tk 2.0 million from the passengers of a trawler in the Padma river near Char Vhadrashan Upazila Monday, leaving five passengers injured.
Police said when a Dohar bound trawler from Gopalpur ghat of Bhadrashan Upazila reached in the mid river a gang of pirates swooped on the trawler and looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables at gunpoint.
The pirates beat up the passengers during robbery, leaving five people injured.
