Pirates release 30 fishermen realising ransom

BORGONA, April 3 (BSS): A group of 30 kidnapped fishermen were released by pirates after realising ransom last night at Manpurar Char of Bhola district Thursday.
A total of 40 fishermen along with five trawlers had been kidnapped by the pirates Wednesday night from the Dhalchar of the Bay of Bengal, 150 kilometers South-East off Patherghata Fisheries Port, under Borguna district.
The rest 10 fishermen with four fishing trawlers were taken to deep forest of the Sundarbans by the pirates, the released fishermen said.
President of Borguna District Trawlers Owners Association Golam Mostafa Chowdhury said the pirates abducted 40 fishermen in the Bay of Bengal.
Quoting fishermen, Mostafa said the pirates demanded Tk 750,000 for the release of the rest 10 fishermen and four trawlers.
