Pitha Mela begins at Agora outlets

A fortnightly cake fair, namely 'Pousher Pitha Mela' began at Agora, the country's largest chain superstore Tuesday with different varieties of traditional cakes on offer.
Nusran Zahan Khan and Afifa Hossain Ratna, proprietors of KNT Garden and Gharkanya, two "pitha" suppliers to Agora, jointly inaugurated the fair at its Moghbazar outlet in the morning.
Agora Operations Manager Shams Haider, Marketing Manager GM Kamrul Hasan, Procurement Manager M Nizam Chowdhury, HR Manager Ashish Roy and Store Manager Abu Sayeed Mahmud and a host of customers of Agora were present during the inauguration.
The fair will continue until the end of the Bengali month of Poush at all the three outlets of Agora -- Dhanmondi (Rifles Square), Gulshan and Moghbazar.
During the fair, buyers will get special discount for buying different varieties of pithas, said a press release.
The pithas on sale include bhapa, chitoi, kata, mukhshila, boishakhi, naiol bor, pakoni, sainna, vorta, dudh chitoi, pati shapta, phul, motta hundesh, poa, puli pakora, beni, malpoa, puli, teler pitha etc.
