Plan to celebrate Pahela Baishakh in Netrakona

NETRAKONA Apr 7 (BSS): Netrakona district administration has chalked out an elaborate program to observe Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bengali New Year-1418, in a befitting manner. The program includes organizing a three-day Baishakhi mela, colourful rally with participants in traditional Bangali dresses, art competition for the school children, discussion meetings and cultural functions. The program was unanimously approved at a meeting held in the conference room of the Netrakona DC office recently. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Netrakona Mohammad Humayun Kabir presided over the meeting, which was followed by an hour-long discussion. Speaking at the meeting, DC Humayun Kabir urged all to extent cooperation to the district administration for making the program a success.
