Plea to involve UN in trial of war criminals

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Oct 24 (BSS): Chairman of the Sector Commanders' Forum Air-Vice Marshal (retd) AK Khondoker, Bir Uttam, Friday called for involving the United Nations (UN) in the process of trying the War Criminals in Bangladesh.
Describing the upcoming elections as very important, he said it must be ensured that no war criminal or anti-liberation element is elected during the December 18 parliamentary polls.
AK Khondoker made the call while addressing a re-union of the Freedom Fighters here. The function was followed by a views exchange session.
Chapainawabganj district Freedom Fighters unit command organised the function with its convenor Md Alauddin in the chair.
Maj Gen (retd) Shafiullah, Bir Uttam, Lt Col (retd) Abu Osman Chowdhury, Lt Gen (retd) Harunur Rashid, Bir Protik, Maj Gen (retd) Masudur Rahman, Bir Protik, journalist Harun Habib and Deputy Inspector General of Police (retd) Shahidullah also spoke, among others, on the occasion.
