Gonotantrik Garments Sramik Karmochari Federation (GGSKF) and Bangladesh Sangjukta Garments Sramik Federation (BSGSF) have demanded payment of salaries and bonuses of apparel workers by December 5.
Addressing a press conference at its office Saturday, GGSKF leaders alleged that apparel workers face problem during Eid-ul-Azha every year as owners of the most of the garments factories generally pay their salaries and bonuses just a day ahead of Eid festival.
They also urged the government to take necessary steps to protect the garment industry from the shocks of the international financial recession.
"We urge the government to find new alternative markets to save the country's apparel industry from shocks of global financial crisis," said BSGSF general secretary Moin Uddin Mondal.
