Plea to rename LGED Bhaban after QI Siddique

Speakers at an Iftar Mahfil paid rich tributes to late Engineer Quamrul Islam Siddique and said he loved the nation through his personal transparency, skill, merit and professionalism.
Bangladesh Water Partnership organised the Iftar Mahfil in Dhaka in observance of his first death anniversary.
Prominent among those who attended the Iftar were former Secretaries to the government Mr Waliur Rahman, Mr AYBI Siddiqui, Members, BWP and Ambassador Mohammad Zamir, Vice-President of BWB. Khandakar Azharul Islam and Architect Lailun Nahar, Executive Members of BWP, Engineer Mokhlesur Rahman, Mr. Iftekhar Ahmed and SM Selim, Project Directors, LGED were also present on the occasion among others. Mr Md Shahidul Hassan, President, Bangladesh Water Partnership and former Chief Engineer, LGED moderated the discussion part of the Mahfil.
The speakers proposed to rename LGED Bhaban as Quamrull Islam Siddique Bhaban. They said, Siddique was much bigger than his size and he had proved that the government does works. It is a matter of regret that the totality of QI Siddique's potentials have never been properly evaluated.
