Monday, 22 December 2014

Bangladesh national team player Rubel Hossain who was sued by film actress Naznin Akter Happy under Women & Children Repression Prevention Act, has at last faced the journalists at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur on Sunday. However, the pace bowler agreed to speak with the journos on condition that the subject of discussion will be limited to matters related to the game rather than any agenda which is exclusively his personal. First he told the journos that the questions they will ask him will be about cricket, imposing restriction on any topic linking him with the actress that they may prefer to ask him. After coming to practice for quiet a few days, Rubel spent around 1 hour at the ‘big bowl’. On his hopes and aspirations about playing in the forthcoming cricket World Cup, Rubel said he is confident to get a place in the final squad for the WC. The World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand. Responding a question related to his own plan about his family Rubel said his father and mother are everything that he is fond of. About cricket the pacer said the game is next to his parents. Rubel has been included in the primary team for the upcoming World Cup. On Dec 13, Happy filed a case against Rubel under Women & Children Repression Prevention Act with the Mirpur Model Police Station. The following day, while talking to the reporters after the medical examination at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), Happy said she would consider withdrawing the case if Rubel marries her. According to the complainant, Rubel developed romantic relationship with her and raped her several times promising to marry her. Following the complaint, police held Rubel and a Dhaka court sent him to jail. However, the cricketer was out on bail earlier this month, according to a news agency.
