RAMALLAH, May 8 (AFP): A divided Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) met in Ramallah Saturday to decide whether to give a green light to resuming long-stalled peace talks with Israel.
President Barack Obama's special Middle East envoy George Mitchell has been shuttling between Israeli and Palestinian leaders trying to secure a deal on launching indirect peace talks.
Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas has balked at again entering talks with Israel until first getting backing from the Arab League and now the PLO, an umbrella group of Palestinian factions.
