Plot on to oust Hasina govt illegally: Ashraf

Claiming that a plot is on to overthrow Sheikh Hasina’s government illegally, LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam on Saturday said it is not possible to implement another 1975-like blueprint if Awami League leaders and activists remain united. “I wish Sheikh Hasina’s long life. I request you (leaders and activists) to remain alert always. If we remain alert, the August 15-like cannot take place again,” he said. Syed Ashraf was addressing a discussion meeting organised by Awami League at the Institution of Engineers in the city, marking the Historic Six-point Day. Pointing at Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), the Awami League general secretary said many people speak highly of the foreigners after being taken doles from them to run the organisation, according to a news agency.
