PM apprises President about her Japan, China visits

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban. During the meeting, the Prime Minister apprised the President about the outcomes of her recent visit to Japan and China. The Prime Minister apprised the President that Japan has pledged to give Bangladesh six billion US dollars in assistance, which will be utilised in socio-economic development of Bangladesh over the next 4-5 years. About the China visit, Hasina said the Chinese President assured her of taking all possible measures to reduce the trade gap between Bangladesh and China. On her arrival at Bangabhaban, the Prime Minister was received by the President, according to a news agency.
