PM apprises President of govt's success in arresting price hike

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Monday apprised President Zillur Rahman that her government has already achieved success in arresting price hike of essentials within a short span of time, reports BSS/ UNB.
The Prime Minister made the observation while paying a call on the President at Bangabhaban prior her departure to Saudi Arabia for an official visit tonight, President's Press Secretary Abdul Awal Howlader told the news agency.
Sheikh Hasina leaves for Saudi Arabia tonight on a 5-day official visit. This will be her first trip abroad after assuming office as Prime Minister on January 6.
The Prime Minister will perform Omrah during her visit.
She also apprised the President about various decisions and steps taken by the government and informed him that her government has already achieved success in reducing the prices of essentials within a short time.
She enquired about the President's recent medical checkup at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore last week.
President Zillur expressed satisfaction over the government's success in different sectors, especially in arresting the prices of essentials.
Sheikh Hasina was expecting to have discussions with Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud during her visit.
Concerned secretaries and high officials of Bangabhaban and PM office were also present on the occasion.
