Tuesday, 3 June 2014

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday asked the ruling party MPs to properly prepare themselves for participating in the general discussion on the next national budget in Parliament. The Prime Minister said this in her introductory speech at a joint meeting of Awami League Central Working Committee, Advisory Council and AL Parliamentary Party at her official residence Ganobhaban. Hasina also asked the MPs to put their names on the list as early as possible to avail themselves of making long deliberations on the annual budget. Hasina, also the Awami League President, directed the MPs, leaders and workers of her party to work together in earning the trust and love of people through their works and project the achievements of her government before them. She hoped that Bangladesh would become a middle-income and peaceful country in South Asia by earlier than 2021, while a developed one before 2041. She mentioned that over 62 per cent people in the country are now getting electricity while the power generation capacity has reached 11,700 MW, according to UNB.
